This session is designed for early career researchers in humanities and the social sciences, especially:
- final year PhD students;
- postdoc researchers without a permanent academic post;
- ECRs with an established academic post, looking for their first major grant.
It will cover:
- Fellowship applications – whether, when, where and how to apply
- Advice on crafting funding applications and details of the UoN support available
- The applicant’s perspective – advice from an early career fellowship holder
- The reviewer’s perspective – advice from an ESRC funding panel member
- Details of ongoing training and support for skills development from the Graduate School
